Unlocked processor clarification.

Hello,
I have an Intel i5-2400, 3.1 GHz, Max Turbo Frequency 3.4 GHz.
In the MSI Bios CPU Specification, it states under CPU Specification:

"Unlocked (Min: 16, Max 38, Limit)"

If I'm able to overclock the processor to 3.8 Ghz, isn't it technically an unlocked processor, although it's not a "K" version?

Hey p - I found this. It explains things a little.

Intel i5 2400 Overclocking cap? - Overclock.net - Overclocking.net

As with things Intel, what they say and what they do.........

Thanks for the link!!

"Fully Unlocked vs. "Limited" Unlocked Core".........that sounds more like it.

"Locked", IMHO is almost like saying that you can't overclock the chip at all.
The non-K chips are not locked, but limited.
