Get a new one quickly and use you Pc as little as possible, ie, power off. Get a good brand, Corsair, Seasonic, Thermaltake higher end.
A bad PSU can cause other components to burn out starting with the motherboard. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Brittechnologies II OS Windows 7 Ultimate X86 SP1 CPU i5-2550K differing speeds depending on the day Motherboard ASUS P8X68-V PRO/GEN3 Memory 16GB G.Skill Sniper 2133MHz, 4X4GB Graphics Card ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 460 Sound Card Onboard Realtek 5-1 Monitor(s) Displays Samsung P2570HD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Old Dell USB From 10 yrs Ago Mouse Gigabyte m6900 wired PSU Corsair HX650W Case Inwin Dragon rider Cooling Hyper 212 EVO w/two Noctua fans @1300 RPM Hard Drives TBA Internet Speed 8-19 Mbs down, 3-4 Mbs up Comcast Cable Other Info 5 fans, LG Bluray/R/RE, ASUS DVD/R/RW |

yeah Buzzing isnt a good sign or electric snaps you can hear
Quickly follow the above advice and get a new PSU asap and make sure you have no component damage something like this would give voltage spikes and for sure fizzle your components dead | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Built by me Bulldozer series Generation FX OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit sp1 CPU BullDozer 8120-30p Oc'ed BE 4.5Ghz 1.44 V-core Motherboard MSI 990FXA-GD80 Memory 8 Gigs of Corsair Vengeance Ram 1600mhz-Oc'ed 1760 Mhz Graphics Card Radeon Diamond Hd 6870 1gb Msi Twin frozer Hd6870 1gb X-fire Sound Card THX tru souround sound audio Monitor(s) Displays 22" envision 1050dp hdmi 37in vizio hdmi dual monitors Screen Resolution 1680x1050 22"- 1920x1080 37" Keyboard Logitech wireless keyboard Mouse Logitech wireless mouse PSU AX850w Corsair Gold 80plus certified crosfire/sli Case 2-CoolerMaster Elite 371 Yes same case for 2 different Pc's Cooling Antec 620 Water cooling system and 4 120 mm LED fans Hard Drives Corsair 80 Gb SSD Seagate baracuda 500 Gb WD Mybook 500Gb Internet Speed Cable 20+ mb Other Info I have 2 systems Bulldozer AM3+ 8120-30P Oc'ed 4.5Ghz AM2+ 925 deneb 2.8 to 3.2 Ghz Both stable Both Gaming Rigs Diamond/MSI HD 6870 1Gb X-fire and Diamond HD5770 1Gb Also Hp Notebook 1.65 ghz Dual core amd E-450 8gb Patriot Ram DDR3 Discrete Gpu Hd6320 dedicated ram 1973 mb 15.5 screen |

New PSU? My psu has developed a loud buzzing noise, I have taken the safest route and aim to replace it, I was wondering what your recommendations would be on a new one in the same price bracket, I currently have a near dead Coolermaster 700w Silent Pro?
or should i just put the fault down to bad luck and get a replacement?
Many Thanks
Matthew

Corsair, Antec, or Seasonic is what I would look into.
A 650W should be good for your setup, or a bit larger depending what upgrades you may have planned. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom (Self Build) OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit CPU Intel Core i7 2700k (4.5Ghz) Motherboard eVGA P67 SLI Memory 2x4GB Mushkin Redline Ridgebacks (@1866) Graphics Card EVGA GTX570 SuperClocked (1280MB) Sound Card XiFi Titanium HD Monitor(s) Displays LG W2453V Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Saitek Cyborg PSU Seasonic x750 Case Corsair 600T (SE White) Cooling eVGA Superclocked CPU Cooler Hard Drives [OS SSD]Intel 320 (80GB) -- Intel X25-V (40GB) --WD Black (1TB)x2 -- WD Blue (640GB) Other Info LG BD/DVD |

mc995599,
This calculator could be helpful, but in reality I would look toward 700-1000 watts modular and that Corsair will outlive many other upgrades and expand with you for years. The PSU is the heart of a great system and spending extra here is just good common sense. imho ! eXtreme Power Supply Calculator | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number A blend of brains, brawn and dumb luck !
