New System. If anyone sees prob with components, alert appreciated

Hey have been oggling, mixing-matching, reading reviews, comparing prices, and tweaking trying to [COLOR=blue !important][COLOR=blue !important]optimize[/COLOR][/COLOR] system (first but should have built this years ago) while in admittedly tight budget.

If anyone sees any red flags PLS would really appreciate someone mentioning them like..

"Oh that graphics [COLOR=blue !important][COLOR=blue ! important]card[/COLOR][/COLOR] dies quickly"
or
"That mobo is better for..." or whatever considerations.

Otherwise seems good to me and I look forward to getting mobo (it will unfortunatley take me awhile to acquire the parts because of financial budget but I at least want to make sure all the parts are right). Thanks.

-Is power supply adequate?

Most all parts were the result of tweaking an interest and reading tons of reviews. Am excited about this but want to make sure compatibility is present and Am I missing anything? Will I need a

wireless card?
ethernet card?
sound card?

I can't seem to get newegg wishlists public. I selected "share" but doesn't work. So here' the build(s)

My Intel build. I had second thoughts on the Phenom II amd (how does i5 2405s compare to AMD Phenom II Deneb? how is the integrated gpu on 2405s?) I like this new case Rosewill (changed from an Antec). MUCH more. it has usb 30.0 in front (I've got an AWESOME external 3.0 usb toshiba 1tb that I love). I've never had more than 1tb external and never more than 500gb internal. HAHA!! This will be twice as much ram, 4 times as much internal HD, and the fastest cpu I've ever had (and I've had over a dozen computers!) And my first rig!! OMFG So psyched!!!!!!! I want to order one of these parts (prob the power supply) by the end of this month (it will take me awhile to afford all parts (prob by nov this year though!!!) to start the process whoo-whoo! :bounce: uch:


Key Questions
--Is power supply adequate?
--(huge one), the 2405s i5 says it has "heat sink and fan". I like the idea of installing my own fan (hyper 212) so...would I need a cpu fan wiht 2405s? if I got 2405s and hyper 212, would cooler master hyper 212 be unusable?
---cpu and gpu quality is my main concern. The ram and HD will be massive upgrades from everything I've ever worked iwth. sweet!
--How does the intel build (no gpu) compare to the AMD build? the prices are very comparable (the case, HD, ram, power supply, and fan are identical in both builds).

again, just wanted to say thanks again for initial interest. This is one of the most valuable (and surprisingly hard to accomplish mainly because of cost) projects have ever done (first rig, but have had over a dozen computers and have learned about these components since 1996 (they have obviously changes since then!!)

hhm WOW I REALLY like that tech wisdom advice. The power supply was something I am slightly flexible on. (DEF using asus, i like kingston ram, I really like the rosewill case (front-side usb 3!) and like the HD) I might slightly upgrade the psu. There were much cheaper. I read one review (of a significantly less expensive one, and the person said it "leaked" something all over motherboard!

What's view on the AMD build? Only difference is cpu and gpu. I think I like that one as then I can install my own 212 fan, (something I want to do) and have own gpu

with 2405s integrated gpu, if you install a pci gpu, what happens to the integrated oen?
are both used?
is only the cpu gpu used?
is only the pci gpu used?

I think I like the amd build because the point is to "build the rig" and the intel build kind of takes care of the fan and gpu, a convenience for some, but might be cumbersome for my goal of building own rig.

that's really sound about the PSU (and that is indeed one thing not to overlook).

What about generators???? I am used to laptops so if power goes out no prob. I may look into a very inexpensive one of those (like one that has only 5 minutes of power. ) I use massive surge protectors most of the time.

Will I need an ethernet card?
What's up with te gpu ? I plan to use at least 2-3 monitors. (I will be getting USB adapters though so I can plug in monitors to usb). I saw some really high-end graphics cards (wayyyy otuside budget) that had multipel ports (I think DVI). I think this looks good though.
