Computer Lockout
I've recently updated my Dell 510 Dimension computer from XP to Windows 7. It was working all right until I put some new software on it that allowed me to change the opening screen from flowers to black in order to lower the amount of memory used. After I had done that and turned it off, I came back later and turned the computer on again. While I was able to sign in on the blank screen at the start as usual, I couldn't sign in the second time when the four colored balls circled the center of my screen since they stopped. I tried letting Windows fix the problem, but it couldn't. I can't even get to all the stuff I put inside my computer! But despite all of this I can still get into my C:\WINDOWS\system32\cmd.exe Is there some way I can change anything from there so I can get back inside my computer and at least get my stuff out of there?!
I also tried taking the hard drive off of my computer and putting it on the other computer I have. When I did that and tried to turn the other computer on, it gave off beeps and wouldn't even light up the screen. When I tried putting the original hard drive back into the second computer, the second computer still wouldn't work. Anybody know what I can do or is everything on my previous computers kaput?
