Printer for W7 that uses generic inks
Can any-one recommend a basic printer ( mostly for script and the occasional photo) that will accept generic ink carts and work in Win7, I like Canon the best really.

I believe that most printers will use generic cartridges. But wait until you hear from some of the other members as a lot of them know a lot more than I do.
I'm not sure what you mean by generic ink cartridges. If you mean refilled, they are available for most but the newest printers using newer ink cartridges.
Thanks, I was meaning a basic printer that will use ready made generic carts (not for me to re-fill) I have used these from various suppliers in the past with a Canon Pixma iP4000 and an Epson Photo 750, with very satisfactory results. I now want to replace the Epson with a new basic machine that will use these similar ink carts. The problem seems to be the chips ?
You do not have to refill cartridges yourself, they are readily available. Another consideration for you is a continuous ink system:
