Confusion concerning hard drives

Hello,

I want to buy a second harddrive which I will be using for games.
At the moment I am a bit confused.

I currently got a Western Digital "WDC WD10EACS-00D6B0" Green caviar I believe.
Now I want to get something that got 7200 rpm or higher. (like WD velociraptors)

Would I be able to use those? As they probably use a different type of connection?

I got the following motherboard: MicroStar-7502

I am just a bit confused so some explaining would be helpfull.

Thank you.

Mark

You should be fine for the plug in that board is new enough to have sata's on it.
I don't think you should bother spending the money on a raptor though.
A caviar black would probably do fine for you, and you could get a hell of a lot more space for less money.

You present drive uses a SATA II 3 Gbs interface. The VelociRaptors are available in SATA II 3 Gbs and SATA III 6Gbs and both will work on your system but will be at the 3 Gbs speed. Another good choice would be the Caviar Black which also come in both interface speeds. No real advantage to the SATA III 6 Gbs interface since the drive wont preform that fast.
