DVD Not working in Windows 7

Hi, I'm having issue with Windows 7 DVD, all CDs are working fine but when I insert DVD it doesn't work, Actually, I had this same problem on 2 machines, previously I though it could be a hardware issue, but now I feel that its some kind of driver issue, or issue with Windows 7 updates.
I searched on internet for fix, and found Regedit fix, of upper filter n lower filter delete, but when I checked there aren't those filters in my Laptop.(I checked it The CD drive or the DVD drive does not work as expected on a computer that you upgraded to Windows Vista here) Well, is there any fix, or it is some kind of virus attack? How to fix it , anyone can help?

Is it an original shiny microsoft disk? Can you run the disk, or it doesn't show up at all? Do you see the drive, is it shown as empty?

First you should uninstall the Skype and uTorrent tool bars. Next, are you trying to play games or a movie?
Go back to Devise Manager and uninstall the DVD/RAM drive, reboot and let Win 7 reinstall it.
