Here's a trick to get a firmware upgrade to install on Windows 7 if you receive an error and it wont install :
To install a
driver/program or Firmware in compatibility mode - right click the setup.exe file - click properties - click compatibility - check run in compatibility with vista etc - check run as administrator - leave the rest blank. Start setup.exe and install.

Another solution you might try firstly if applicable - if you have AHCI enabled in the bios and haven't installed the Intel Matrix Storage Manager - it could be a storage
driver that needs updating - Go here and downolad this version :
