    Here you go,

    Unable to play dvds-capture.jpg

You are only allowed so many changes to the region, not sure if that's why you're getting that message.

As for playing DVD's from different regions, have you thought about

VLC Media Player - VLC Player Download

VLC Player is Region-free. It can handle playback off all DVD regions without restriction. Asides from being able to play virtually any Audio or Video file you throw at it, there is a lot more this light-weight, yet powerful media player can offer whilst still having a user-friendly interface that even the most of novice users will be able to handle with ease.

Just adding my weight to this one -- absolutely A+++ class player -- hasn't yet refused to play a DVD that's been thrown at it --and I travel frequently.

Blu-Ray might be another issue but on a smallish laptop who needs HD anyway-- for mega HD stuff that's what a nice large Plama/ LCD TV is for --away from computers just with the Dog and a nice glass of scotch / Beer / whatever your tipple is. !!!!.

Slightly OT but you can use a combination of Alcohol52% (nothing to do with my reference to a "tipple" ) to mount a virtual DVD and use AnyDVD to convert a DVD to a region free iso --with NO loss of quality / compression - so you can save the images to a HDD (or usb HDD) - mount the virtual drive and play as a "normal" DVD.

for alcohol52% (Free) ==> Alcohol 52% FE - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

AnyDVD (not free but worth the small price) I've converted my entire DVD collection to ISO's stored on a USB external HDD so I can easily take with me when travelling -- also remember a lot of netbooks don't have DVD drives either.

SlySoft AnyDVD | any dvd, region free, dvd copy, copy dvd movies, dvd decoder, dvd ripper, macrovision, dvd copying software
