| | Computer power supply Can anyone tell me if typical modern motherboards on-off pins to the front panel are normaly open switchs with the turn on action being closed and cold turn off hold closed for a minute or so. Of course the cold turn off should never be done if it can be avouded. |

| | They aren't really switches, just a way to attach your power/reset swithces from your front panel. Those switches are "momentary close" types. The power and force shut-down use the same pins. It usually is hold the power button down for 4-5 seconds to force a hot shut down. |
