This device can perform faster I just received a 7 port usb in the mail that I ordered from eBay, condition is new and all. But when I plug in my usb devices such as thumb drives, I receive the error
I only receive the error when I plug in my usb devices to the usb hub, but I don't receive the error I plug in my devices into the usb ports on my laptop.
Any ides on how I can resolve this?
Also, I have the option to disable the error notification, I haven't disabled it just yet since I'm still searching for a solution on how to resolve this issue.
Any help is appreciated. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Compaq Presario CQ60 Notebook PC OS Windows 7 Ultimate CPU Processor AMD Athlon Dual-Core QL-62, 2000 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Motherboard Wistron 303C (Socket A) Memory 2.0GB DDR2 Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 8200M G Sound Card Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 Keyboard tandard PS/2 Keyboard Mouse Synaptics PS/2 Port TouchPad Hard Drives 232GB SAMSUNG HM251JI ATA Device |

I can think of two things, it may need external power or the hub is USB 1.1?

It appears to be USB 2.0 from the specs. Go to Device Manager and see if the hub has the yellow caution icon on it, may be 7 of them. Right click each one then Update Driver, Search Automatically. See if you can get a newer/better driver.
Otherwise I think the hub may be defective. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Brittechnologies II OS Windows 7 Ultimate X86 SP1 CPU i5-2550K differing speeds depending on the day Motherboard ASUS P8X68-V PRO/GEN3 Memory 16GB G.Skill Sniper 2133MHz, 4X4GB Graphics Card ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCU/2DI/1GD5 GeForce GTX 460 Sound Card Onboard Realtek 5-1 Monitor(s) Displays Samsung P2570HD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard Old Dell USB From 10 yrs Ago Mouse Gigabyte m6900 wired PSU Corsair HX650W Case Inwin Dragon rider Cooling Hyper 212 EVO w/two Noctua fans @1300 RPM Hard Drives TBA Internet Speed 8-19 Mbs down, 3-4 Mbs up Comcast Cable Other Info 5 fans, LG Bluray/R/RE, ASUS DVD/R/RW |

Go to device manager and expand USB serial bus controllers (usually the last entry) see if any of the entries says 'enhanced' in them. That means you have USB 2.0. Right click and select properties and click on the drivers tab, and as Britton30 said, click on the update driver button. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home Brew - Always under construction OS Windows 7 X64 Professional/Windows 8 CPU intel i7-2600K Motherboard Asus P8Z68 V-Pro/GEN 3 Memory 8GB G.Skill Sniper DDR3-2133 (2X4GB) Graphics Card EVGA 670 2GB Sound Card Asus Xonar Monitor(s) Displays Asus 24" LCD VW246H Screen Resolution 1920X1080 Keyboard Logitech G510 Mouse Logitech G500/Logitech Wireless PSU CORSAIR HX850W Case Cooler Master HAF X Cooling Corsair H100 w/ 4 noctua fans in push/pull.
