CD drive wont eject?

    CD drive wont eject?


    Hi Folks

    First off great forums,am having a problem with my cd drive not ejecting,is a diagnostics boot cd struck in it but it wont eject,used a program called opti drive control and its spinning up and reading etc but not ejecting,before i go and buy a new drive could anybody possibly know what the problem could be?

    hi and welcome to the forums :)
    now there should be a little hole on the front of the drive that you put a paperclip into(bend the paper clip out) to release the drive catch.(with the power off)
    in the computer menu find the cd drive and see if you can right click on it and in the context menu click eject?(see video)

    Right clicked on CD Drive and hit eject,just keep getting error,also the hole that the pin goes in to seems filled in with clear plastic so no joy there either,guess I'll just buy a new drive tomorrow,thanks for the help much appreciated!!!

    what does the error say? do you have files waiting for burning/writing any data ?

    An error ocurred while ejecting DVD RW (E)

    No error codes

    Bought this PC used about a year ago and my guess is the person before has stuck something plastic in the release hole and its snapped blocking the hole,only thing i can think off!!!

    No no files waiting to be write/burned!

    yes i understand may be best treat yourself to a new up to date dvd/cd :)

    Thanks for taking the time to help out,even better im near sure i have a pioneer 22x somewhere in the attic,so money saved into the bargain
