Can VGA and RCA cables be used in combination to connect laptop to TV

    Hello

I need to connect my laptop to TV and I have two cables already available with me.
One is VGA cable and the other is 3.5mm 1/8" Stereo Male to 2-RCA Male Audio Y-Cable (see picture attached).

I would like to know if I can use these 2 cables to get video as well as audio on the TV from my laptop.

    Thank You in advance.

    Regards,
    Pawan

It would help to know what TV you are using, so that we can ascertain the signal input options.

From the manual for your TV,

Unless your laptop has a HDMI port on it you need to use the VGA cable you have, and instead of the audio cable you posted you need one with the 3.5 MM jacks on both ends, not one with split RCA ends.

A cable/adapter like that will only work if the VGA port on the computer/video card is configured to also support TV out, and very few if any (more like none) video cards have a VGA port that works like that anymore. If it isn't then that adapter will not work for anything.

If I purchase the 3.5mm (1/8") Male to Male Stereo Audio Patch Cable (see attachment) and use it along with VGA cable, then I guess I will be able to get video and audio.

Am I correct and is the cable in the attachment correct one?

    Yep that's the one.

And yes you will, just have to set the audio and video to PC in the TV's settings.
