Epson Stylus Photo R360 Status Monitor Not Working

    Hi,
Not sure if anyone will be able to help or not,but up until about 2 weeks ago my Ink Status Monitor for my Epson Stylus Photo R360 was working fine (Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit),then suddenly it just stopped working (I'm not aware of any recent changes I had done that may have affected this). It still works on the printer display, but not on the PC. If I select "printer preferences" it is greyed out,but the box to disable it is unchecked. I have uninstalled and re-installed the drivers countless times now (Windows keeps wanting to install Epson ESC/P2 which does not monitor),but I have downloaded the up to date driver from Epson and still no joy. I have spent about 2 hours on the Epson Support Chat site and nobody on there has been able to help either.
Also whenever I print now,(Roxio,Epson or Windows programs),it takes ages for the window to come up for me to select quality of print and paper etc.
If anyone can help,I would be very grateful.
    Many thanks.

Hello anpease, welcome to the forum

You could try a System Restore Go back to a date before the problem

Try this; USB Driver - General Fix for Problems[2]=Hardware%20and%20Drivers It will show you how to make sure all old USB drivers are uninstalled just in case windows is still using an old driver.

Tried it,but still no joy. I reckon the only way would be to wipe the hard drive and re-install windows etc from scratch again?

The only other thing I can suggest would be a repair install Repair Install but I cannot guarantee that it would work

Okay. Thanks for your help. May try that, but at least I can still monitor it on the Printer LCD,so may just have to live with that for now.

Sorry I cannot help more just a thought tho isn't there a software from Epson for this? I ask as my ink monitor runs only over the HP Solution centre, and when I look at my printer preferences in Windows there is no mention of it at all.

It is part of the driver from Epson. Some printers have a separate software download for the status monitor, but not the R360.
I'm just puzzled as it worked fine until about 3 weeks ago,and I have spoken to 3 Epson tech guys who could not help at all.
The annoying thing now is when I go to print something, and want to change printer preferences it slows right down, and can take up to 5 minutes before I can finally click on "Print".
Thanks for your time and advice though, much appreciated.
