Can't you increase the brightness from the monitor itself? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavilion dv6-2020ev OS Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit CPU Intel Core i7 720QM Motherboard Its a HP secret... Check if both sockets of your cable are clean and connectect tightly, if they are, try to test your monitor and your cable separately if you have the ability of doing it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built PC OS Windows 7 Enterprise x64 no SP CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz 36°C Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Tried the above an no joy,but noticed when i was checking the brightness was an option for a factory reset, done this and all seems as it should be now!!
