Time taken

It took me 45 minutes to transfer 65 GB of files onto my external hard disk.Is this normal?

Depends on the connection. If it was done by USB 2.0 then thats 60MBs or 3600MBs per minute or 162000MBs in 45 minutes or 162GB in 45 minutes

If it was firewire or Sata it would have been even faster at 400GBs for firewire or 3Gbs

Then it is quite longer rite...

By the way it was time which I mentioned was I transferred from one external HDD to another HDD..

Then it would make sense its about half that speed around 80GBs to go from USB(A) to controller to OS to Controller to USB(B)
