    Wacom Tablet- Blinking Cursor Problem

I have a tablet which I love to use for Photoshop work.. It works great except that some one at Windows decided that it would be a good idea to have animated cursors. A ripple effect occurs everytime I click and animated circle show up everytime I right click or hold down the cursor.

Working with artwork these effects are incredibly ANNOYING, esp since I am clicking all the time and these effects ubstruct my view! Not to mention they are completely useless. I think I know when I am right clicking or clicking and don't see why I need this annimation to tell me that.

Does anyone know where I can turn these effects off? I looked in the control panel under Pen and touch but I couldn't find anything.

I do not think these effects should be standard in the Windows Seven Release. Perhaps they can be truned on as an accesibility feature for those who want it.

I don't think it's accessible via the Pen and Touch options, or even in the WACOM pad's own interface
    - try in the Control Panel under Mouse..

one of the options under "Pointers" is to "Allow Windows themes to change mouse pointers"
    - it's done by un-ticking that box near the bottom..

    - see if this makes any difference..

I'm experiencing the same problems. As far as I can tell this is a windows issue.
I figured out how to disable the ripples, unfortunately, the only way to do it is to disable the tablet pc functions that are built in to windows.

Add Remove Programs---> Turn Windows features on/off--> remove tablet pc components. Reboot.

Your tablet will still function as a mouse. Photoshop works fine for me. But the inking features in word/pp/excel stop working, which I require.

Windows, you dropped the ball AGAIN! It's not hard to create a dialog like the "mouse pointers" dialog to address this issue.

    - did you switch "Flicks" off in the Systray..??
    - WACOM advise this to prevent Windows stealing the controls..

Flicks is indeed off, at least on my machine.

I have two tablets, one is Adesso the other is Wacom. Both experience the same behavior.

It is clearly a windows 7/vista(?) feature. I believe it is to highlight where the 'click' was made on a touchscreen/tablet.

    Re: Hold and right click.

This is not my problem. Hold-for-right-click is a different feature. I experience splashes on taps not on holds. The right click feature is a circular ring [strike]of blue dots[/strike] that rotates. The splashing is an outward radiating ring of concentric circles.

Disabling right-click and hold gets rid of the circular ring [strike]of blue dots[/strike], but not the splashing during the taps.

    Any answers?

Has anyone found out anything? This is a pretty annoying, at least for those of us who do photoshop work. My tablet has been sitting on my desk unused for a while. Is there a way to contact the windows seven development team?

Windows seven is by far an improvement, but this renders my tablet useless. I can't work with blinking lights and rings over my artwork!

    Ben,

If you do not need the ink features in MS word/excel then you can get rid of the splashing by uninstalling the Tablet PC Components in the Turn Windows Features On/Off section of Add/Remove Programs.
