Memory question?
I have to make a choice. 8GB memory and no built in camera, or 4GB and a built in camera for the same price. I7 2.7 processor with W7 Pro 64 bit.
Opinions please.

do you have links to these two systems? the difference in price is making me wonder if the specs for the ram or anything else is different or better on one machine or another.
I don't have the links, but they are suppose to be identical other than what I mentioned.
If I had more use for a webcam then I'd pick that one. External webcam's can cost $50 - $75USD IIRC.
If I had little use for a webcam then I'd choose the better system performance with the extra 4GB of RAM. 4 gig of laptop memory is probably $50 - $75USD too.
If I could find a system that has 8 gig and a webcam for $50 - $75 more then I would get that instead.
I agree with TVeblen. But for a little more you can have both. I just bought 8GB of ram for my laptop for $49. So, you could get the web cam and add ram for just a little more and have both.
I agree with TVeblen and essenbe. Most likely you can upgrade the laptop to 8GB (or more) and buy a web cam with higher resolution and better color, picture etc.
Check the specs on the one you're considering for memory upgrade options. RAM is quite cheap at the moment.
Thank you all for your opinions. I bought the one with the camera and 4GB, but just ordered 8GB ram for it for 59.00. I should be able to get $25- $30 for the 4GB on ebay, so I will end up with a powerful, loaded, Dell E 5420 machine. I am looking forward to it.
