    Can I Upgrade Ram

    Hi
Will everything work better, properly if I add 2gb ram on my Acer One 722-816 netbook with AMD C-50, 220 gb hd, 2gb ram installed? It has Windows 7 Professional 32-bit. Is that too much ram for the system? thanx, this is a great wonderful forum.

Assuming your motherboard will support 4 GB, you will probably see modest improvements moving from 2 to 4. Don't expect too much. Your PC won't recognize the entire 4 GB because you have a 32 bit OS.

RAM is so cheap right now that you may as well.

Moving from 4 to 8 will likely not be noticeable in most situations.

No, but you will have wasted your money.

I'd investigate the motherboard specifications as deeply as possible. Either online or in whatever documentation you got with it. Total RAM supported is a very common specification, so it should be easily found.

I'd be quite surprised if it did not support at least 4 GB if it is a fairly recent machine.

You can go to Crucial.com and have it "sniff" your machine and it will show you RAM guaranteed to be compatible.

I would go to the manual or to the Acer website to confirm your PC can accept 4 GB.

After you confirm this, you should be able to go back to Crucial. Instead of letting it "sniff", you can enter your Acer model number directly into the configurator and it will then show you the suitable RAM.

But first confirm 4 GB is OK.
