    intel core 2 quad q6600 kentfield g0 help buying new cpu


    i am thinking of buying a new cpu i want a cpu that is better then the intel core 2 quad q6600 kentfield g0 2.40ghz my motherboard is p5n-e sli

    If your staying with LGA 775, the best CPU you can get is the QX9650. Mine is mildly overclocked to 3.5 Ghz & it can be pushed easily to 4 Ghz. Since you already have a quad core, the improvement may not be that noticeable.

    Finding a new one could be difficult. I bought mine used - no regrets.

o over clock the 2.40ghz to 2.80ghz and the bus speed from 266mhz to 313mhz i did a stress test for an hour and the max temp was 61 for core 1 core 2 58 core 3 52 and core 4 52 so i w ant to know did i overclock successfully
Help me overclock my Intel Quad-Core Q6600
in Performance & Maintenance

I've had an Intel Quad core Q6600 and just gave it a revamp with a good cleaning & new thermo paste. I'd like to try and overclock it to get more performance out of my computer. After 2 years, its not as snippy as it used to be. How do I go about doing this?
