Thanks Dave for clarifying that.
QUOTE: Well..... that says if you're looking to get a Vertex 2, try to find the 34nm version.
From the link you posted to the OCZ site it says they are the same name and same model numbers. How do you know if it is the 34nm or 25nm version?
Thanks, I just thought you were aware of something that was not in that Vertex forum thread.
PS. It sounds strange that they are buying their nand from intel and intel has not come out with the new nand. Maybe somebody got snookered.
With revision numbers and all the other info on these drives I'm sure someone will figure out a way to distinguish between 34 & 25 nm nand drives. I can guarantee OCZ has a record; it would be poor business and technical practice not to.
Well they open themselves up to that sort of speculation when the try hiding things. Again I would honestly be shocked if OCZ didn't know which drives have what nand in them. They may not tell us, but they know, somebody knows.
Anyway that's my thought on the situation. Luckily??? I got one of the 34 nand drives. I say question luckily because who knows what's going on now
My two cents
Although I am an OCZ fan, I guess I won't be buying any until they sorted that out. Only way I see to stay out of trouble.
Especially if they are going to play with performance numbers. I'll also add that I'm not impressed with their forums tech support. Too much attitude.
