    That is supposedly what they are suppose to do, I still do my backups but, nice to know you can still get data from them... don't know who will want my data after +250 years

    Well, ssd can use all usb 3.0 speed, plus external ssd would be more safe storage.

    After checking the USB 3.0 flash drive prices, except for size, an external USB 3.0 SSD might be a good idea.

    A SSD can use all the USB 3.0 speed and then some. What a waste of hardware capability. The USB won't get anywhere near SSD performance. Might as well use a HDD and save the money. I'm not sure what you mean by "more safe". Safe from what? Theft?
