As far as the video card driver is concerned did u uninstall the drivers from the system and then re-install it. or Did you try to install it from the windows update from Device Manager.
Try to run a diagnostics test on the system use the following link:

For the video card test use the following utility:
Video Card - Stress Test with Furmark
Did you also try the BIOS update ?
I think the video card driver was the problem. I used a toshiba application installer I had on my system to update my video card drivers as well as a few like sound, web cam, etc just to be safe and I'm no longer having the problem. I ran a couple of tests.
The first was 3 youtube videos running on gchrome and firefox as well as an anime on another website. Sometimes the anime alone would freeze it before but she worked fine. No Problems at all (that test lasted 30 minutes)
The second was with 3 youtube videos and an anime video along with a virus scan all at once..... It didn't freeze and this was done immediately after the first test. ( test lasted for about an hour)
The third was done later on during the day. I had 3, one hour long youtube videos running, an anime on another website, a full virus scan and skype without video calling. She worked fine. No problems at all. ( test lasted for a little over an hour)
The last test was done right after as I wanted the system to still be "hot" from the last test so that I can add more pressure to push it a bit just to eliminate the possibility of overheating. I had the 3 youtube videos, the anime, virus scan, video call on skype and msn open while being active on the computer browsing and stuff and nothing happened. She worked just fine. She got warm and her fans were running at full power but it didn't freeze or shut down. ( test lasted for about 1 hour and 30 minutes)
With that said it doesn't look like it's a overheating problem at all. I never would have thought that a video card driver would be the cause but you learn something new everyday.
I have not done the BIOS update yet. I wanted to leave my system as it is now for 2 weeks just to make sure it was the video card driver problem. I'll monitor my computer for a little bit then do that update.
I'll keep you posted.
