S3 Issues.
What's up?!
Lately, I feel like taking on some issues with things and right now, my motherboard.
It does not want to go to sleep and come out of it! I've always had to put it to Hibernate if I want to put it to a low power mode, but that is so last decade. I've set my motherboard's jumpers accordingly to what the USB keyboard settings and USB wake up should be and set the power setting in BIOS to S3 and nothing works. Windows will go to sleep, but it doesn't resume, the CPU fan is running but it's at low RPM, the hard drive is running, the case fans are running, there's no display or anything. It's getting me a little annoyed. I have to kill power to it altogether and drain out any last energy out then restart. Windows says it didn't shut down properly and gives the boot options.
I have the latest display drivers from ATI, and Windows is up to date.
I'm thinking that since I installed Windows and didn't set the BIOS to S3 mode before installing, it's not going to do so....
