Ocassionsal Video and Audio Stutter

Welcome to Seven Forums AKM87. I have noticed some things which may be causing your issues. You have two programs installed which have caused several issues in Win7, McAfee security and Steam. I would recommend removing McAfee and using MS Security Essentials, link in my sig. Also uninstall Steam. As i understand Steam has something to do with gaming but causes issues as well.

Your Graphics driver, while the newest one, 280.26, may not be the best one for your system. First download the 275.33 WHQL or the 270.61 WHQL and save to your desk top. http://www.nvidia.com/Download/Find.aspx?lang=en-us

Use Phyxion.net - Driver Sweeper to clean your current nVIDIA drivers, the nVIDIA clean install doe not remove all the old driver's bits. Install one of the drivers you saved and give it a test drive. If you still have the same issue, try the other one, using Driver Sweeper as before.

EDIT: Also Samsung monitors (I have one too) and Microsoft don't play well together. One more thing to try in removing the Samsung driver and reverting to Generic PnP Monitor. Contol Panel/Device Manager/Monitor, right click your monitor and Uninstall driver. The monitor will then run with the MS driver. That may also help.

I was having the same problem stuttering streaming audio and stutter at the desktop. I was also having stutter in pandora, youtube, and even itunes not even connected to the internet. I used DPC latency checker. I disabled all my devices 1 by 1 and it was looking like it was the NIC card. There were red spikes whenever I opened up any internet browser. I updated all drivers rolled back and repeat during my troubleshooting. I bought a new NIC pci card and the issue did not go away .

I thought ok so if its the ethernet.. maybe firewall?

Got rid of mcafee firewall and the whole mcafee suite as a test run and the stutter went away and my DPC latency is as clean as a nun out of the shower....

now i am picking between norton or avg or all the other free trials here we come

TO ALL THE AUDIO STUTTERS THAT ARE LINKED TO THE ETHERNET / NIC CARD DISABLE FIREWALLS AND TRY TO REPLICATE THE STUTTER!

ALSO DISABLE ALL POWER MANAGEMENT SAVINGS IN YOUR NIC CARD.. TURN OFF GREEN ETHERNET ETC MAKE SURE YOUR POWER MANAGEMENT SETTINGS IN YOUR POWER OPTIONS ARE AT HIGH PERFORMANCE AND MAKE SURE IF YOUR VID CARD HAS A POWER OPTION SET IT AT MAX PERFORMANCE. TURN OFF ALL BIOS POWER MANAGEMENT ALSO! - GOOD LUCK FOLKS
