Fresco Logic USB 3.0 Host Controller - Not working after pc restart

    Hi,

Recently got Fresco Logic USB 3.0 Host Controller (PCI Express Card), first tried and it was cool with ~60-80MB/s transfer rate.

However, soon after I restarted the computer, the PCI card no longer works - cannot detect any usb device connected . Having said that, device manager does not show any unrecognized device .

When I connected the mouse to the USB port of the PCI card, it lights up, but no any response.

Could anyone give a hand on this issue? Thanks.

    Welcome to Seven Forums huikiutat.
In Device Manager does it show your USB3.0 card? If so you can try RevoUninstaller (link in my sig) and remove the Fresco drivers. Then Reinstall them.

Thanks Britton30, the name of the card seems not shown in device manager but instead in another name defined by Windows 7.. so I could not know which one referring to the USB 3.0 card as well..

Windows 7 often recognized a hardware and named it in another way I could not tell..

Under which device type can I find that card most probably?

I would think under USB devices. If any USB 3.0 device is there it may be the card if your motherboard has no USB 3.0 on it.

Did you try Revo? It may list the Fresco drivers. Uninstall them, reboot and see if windows will recognise the card.

The revoUninstaller is quite powerful, it can find the driver and uninstall it. But the windows still cannot recognize the card.

I was wondering if it is a hardware problem instead of software problem.. but given there is electricity supply via the card (mouse lights on upon connection), the vendor do not replace it..

I would try reinstalling the Fresco USB 3.0 drivers. I don't know your computer make/model nor your motherboard or I might be able to finde them for you.
