seagate clone disc not working need advise

so I bought a new 1T hard drive. a seagate barracuda sata. I followed the disc wizard instructions to clone my hard drive but after I chose the disc to clone etc and it restarted the computer now I just have a blank black screen with a flashing cursor. and it doesn't seem to be doing anything. (let it sit for more than 10 min. and the hdd light never flashes or anything.) and now my old drive will not boot.
seagate's site is a waste of time to ask there. no one posts there.

anyone familiar with their clone disc have anything to share with me? I'd hate to re install windows again. takes way too long.....

Were both hard drives installed inside the computer? The Acronis that Disk wizzard uses will clone pretty well. I have used it several times without issue. It should not have affected your old hard drive. Which hard drive is set to boot first in your bios? When it said to reboot did you reboot into the new hard drive or the old one. As I recall, the actulal clone process occurs during startup. Use the 1 time boot menu and boot into your new hard drive. See if that helps.

well it never cloned because it was indeed trying to load the new drive first. I was too impatient to check it and I installed windows anyway. lol
    my old drive is fine.

Hope you have it the way you want it. Glad you figured it out. Disk Wizzard usually does a good job at cloning but can take a few minutes depending on the size of the clone. Glad you have things worked out.

Whenever cloning a HDD at 1st boot of the cloned drive it's important to have all other HDD's disconnected...
It's not necessary to uninstall them...simply disconnect the data cables...

Only time i've seen Acronis not do it's job has been user error.
