    xfx 6770 system requirement question

I just bought this tower and PSU combo off newegg.com Newegg.com - RAIDMAX SMILODON ATX-612WBP Black 1.0mm SECC Steel ATX Mid Tower Foldout MB Computer Case With 500W Power Supply

I am looking at buying the xfx 6770 card from them as well. Newegg.com - XFX HD-677X-ZNFC Radeon HD 6770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

I was wondering if the 500 W PSU that comes with the tower will be able to run this card or am I going to have to buy another PSU?

    Thanks for any advice

It should power it fine, but from the reviews I just glanced at over at newegg, the PSU isn't very relaible.

    With 500W Power Supply

    Tells us sfa really.

To err on the side of caution, I suspect it could be a yum-cha spec 500W (low 12V amp, not true 500W etc)

You should be able to run the card, but stay away from overclocking etc High loads for extended periods (ie Folding@home etc) is also not advisable.

For longevity's sake though, I'd consider a 'brand' name PSU sometime in the future if budget is a pressing concern now.
