    Hard Drive error

I have a HP laptop running Windows 7 64 bit home premium with a I5 processor and 8 Gigs of Ram. Recently upon a restart before Windows starts loading I get a screen with the title of Hard Drive error and options to run a check on the Hard drive. You can press F2 to start the check then hit the escape key and the computer will finish its boot and run just fine. I have ran all available hard drive test and everything checks fine. The strange thing is that if you shutdown the computer and start it again no such hard drive error screen comes up. Only on a restart or warm boot does this problem come up. HP suggested a system recovery which I did and the proplem is still there. HP now wants me to send in the computer but I really don't want to do that if I can resolve the issue myself. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I would Check the hard drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic tools.
