LG LCD Monitor Having Power-on Issues
It started about a month and a half ago--the initial symptom was that when the computer started up (cold boot), the monitor would shut off as the computer hit the password screen, and would not power on without unplugging it for about a minute. Then I could plug it back in and it would work fine for an indefinite amount of time, provided i did not power off the computer. If i kept it on standby, I could bring it back out and the monitor would work fine.
Now, I'm having a ton of issues getting the monitor to turn on AT ALL. I shut my computer off last night, and trying to start it up today I went through the usual routine, and the monitor would light up for 2-3 seconds, then power off again. No response unless unplugged. This persisted regardless of whether or not it had the DVI cable plugged in.
After multiple attempts of having it sit unpowered for ~10 minutes, the computer up as I plugged it in, and it finally decided to stay on. At this point, I'm obviously not turning the computer off again, but I'm wondering, is this fixable, or is the monitor simply toast?

I would test the monitor with different cables as well as on a different computer just to make sure it's the monitor.
some LG monitors offer a 3 year warranty to the original buyer with receipt so if yours is under warranty and you have the receipt, give them a call and get it replaced.
I rma'd one of my LG screens a couple of years ago and it didn't cost me anything. They sent me a pre-paid shipping label, picked up the monitor and then sent me a new monitor.
