External Hard Drive

hi, i recently bought a external hard drive, for my laptop,windows 7,it has been working ok until now, each time i reboot or restart windows the auto play keeps showing up?,it has never done this before?,i do not know why this is happening now?,any ideas as how to stop it?thank you,riptorn

hi,pebbly,well i rebooted my laptop,but the autoplay is still opening up for the external hard drive....ahhhhhh!!!

Hi Riptorn

I was having a similar issue with autoplay turning itself back on.If your willing to sacrifice autoplay totally this "fix it" works great.You will never see another autoplay pop up again - How to disable the Autorun functionality in Windows.
If you are registry literate there are also options for turning off individual settings.

No worries glad you got it sorted.My external didn't show up in attached devices so I had little choice, but as I don't like autoplay running anyway it was a no brainer for me.
