So nobody knows what exactly the BIOS update was?
Exactly and this makes Acer the bigest Troller ever :/
next time i prefer to pay a bit more for better chances on stable hardware lol,
even Toshiba did do better ventilation to the laptop as i saw lot vent holes on heat pipe in their recent models, Acer definitly only wana sell and no single care for the user
No lol i definitly wont support Acer anymore.

    Hi guys..

last week i bought the Acer 7750g-2434g50..
After a few days i wondered why my Battery drops so fast! Then i suddenly realized that my Intel HD 3000 graphics isnt installed!

I contacted the Acer support about this Problem and they told me that the Intel VGA isnt activated in bios (and there is no option to activate it)

    Are they kidding?!
I buy a Notebook with i5 cpu ..with integrated Intel VGA ..and they dont let me activate it?!

So..anyone can help me with this Problem?!..cause its kinda stupid just to have my ATI 6850m activated..cause it drops my Battery very fast..

(sry for my bad english..i am from germany ...and i wrote this at work ^^)

lol theres so many things you can do to not let battery drop fast,
actualy graphic card saving power wont change much for sure,
what takes battery fast is actualy your cpu and big screen there IMO,
on win7 power management make cpu use 98% so he doesnt activate turbo boost also.

I also have battery droping fast,
doesnt mater a thing what graphic card your using at all since its your cpu doing most work.

Your complaining for that? how about us who actualy dont wana use that crap intel integrated vga? and only wana use Radeon? as if that crapy vga would make a diference to your battery lol...

Your 17" screen is a major contributor. The display and GPU are major contributors to power consumption (behind #1 - the CPU - as Otase said) and a bigger screen uses more power.

So no update on the switchable issue yet . It's sad to see that I can't run high graphics on games like L4D2, Skyrim and such ..

Wanted to bring this topic up again as I just purchased the 7750G from Newegg and seem to be having the same problems with the switchable graphics. Regardless of what I set the program to in CCC (High Performance, etc.) it seems that the programs are defaulting back to the integrated Intel card. (Just purchased The Witcher: Enhanced Edition from Steam.)

My computer came with BIOS v. 1.12 running. Acer has up to 1.20 on their support site. I haven't flashed yet but will probably do so tonight. Anybody have any problems flashing to 1.20 during or after? Did it help with the graphics issues? On the Newegg reviews one guy said his onboard fan quit working after 1.13.

Also, Acer support is probably the worst I've ever experienced.

Did it help at all with being able to manually select the graphics card? Is that in the new BIOS?

Or is it still a CCC option of "High Performance" or "Power Saving"?

EDIT: Sorry I just saw where Popeye said earlier in the thread that the BIOS update to 1.20 did not include this feature. Lak3rsFan, have you figured anything out post 1.2 BIOS update with the switchable graphics? Is yours working correctly now?

Nope, still cannot each either man. It's annoying, I have all these games, that I wanna use the 2GB Radeon card, and all it does is just recognize the Intel HD Gfx card.
