Anyone else not being able to adjust screen brightness using the FN+L/R arrow keys with the modded BIOS?

    7750G Aspire
I've always had this problem with Acer laptops. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't no matter the Bios. Will work for awhile after reboot then stop again. I found a small program called Desktop Lighter that will sit in your tray and saves having to go into Control Panel/Display to adjust.

I should add that my previous Acer's have all had dedicated video cards and no CPU integrated video. I always experienced the problem with adjusting brightness with a dedicated GPU. Seems this has carried over with the switchable graphics. Definitely not a big deal to me. Just use Desktop Lighter with the high performance GPU.

Day 2 on this BIOS and well I've had some minor issues..

I have the High perf GPU selected via CCC..

From time to time..VLC lags a bit, or goes into black screen..Google Chrome today froze on me, and came back, but the graphics on the screen looked very weird..

Laptop is running a bit warmer, but I guess that's expected..

    But good news:
I'm running L4D2 on max settings and its perfect! BF3 on High settings perfect! MW3 as well! So..I guess I'll have to keep testing it out to see.

Hmm, VLC seems to be working fine here and I use FireFox which I've not had any problems with.
A bit warmer with the high power card of course. I just switch back to power saving GPU when I don't need the ATI card. That is the great thing about this. I'm so glad to be able to do it finally.

Yes, I'm grateful for it, I'm still testing it out, could've just been a glitch in the files I was watching (which was the case because I went back to the Intel) and the Chrome issue could've been just because it was overloaded (Med student here, I usually have about 10-15 tabs open!)

Now I just need to know how to overlock this processor lol..

BTW: Popeye, noticed you have the same laptop as me, did you use the second HD bay? I wanna figure out how I can go about shaving the back part of the panel. Tried putting my SSD in there, but the parts of the panel that goes to the back of the laptop hit it .

I believe I saw a special panel online for sale. Try searching.
Which drivers are you using? I'm using latest leshcat and they work great.

You would know because you have to download from his site and go through some steps to delete old drivers.
What date does your drivers show in device manager? Mine shows 3/8/2012.

His site is here: leshcat blog IT Tips & Tricks: Catalyst 12.3 WHQL UnifL for Switchable Graphics

Be sure to follow the steps in his manual if you load them.
