On my Liteon iHBS 112 ODD, the user changes left is 5 ( No region selected by the user) Does it mean it will play any region disk? The answer I found is NO.

When I tried to play a multiregion (2,4,5) disk, Windows Media Player said that the current system region is set to 1 and I should set it to 5 to play.

So what turns out is that the vendor has set it to Region 1 leaving 4 vendor resets still available. If it is not a region 1 disk the user has to set the region. ( The ODD was imported from ebay, USA)

Quality does not depend on region code, which only determines whether it plays or not on your system.

I'm familiar with the numerical designations for CD/DVDs, but one that I'm now looking at is labeled as region A (US, CA). Would there be any compatibility issue with playing it in a region 1 setting?
