Still, unless you are intimately familiar with subzero overclocking like I am, or you just get excited by new records like I do, you may be asking what a CPU Frequency record matters to Joe Sixpack? Don’t let anyone – or any marketing – fool you. This record isn’t going to change the way you compute daily, it isn’t going to mean you hit 6GHz on air, and it isn’t confirmation of what other benchmark performance we should expect to see from Bulldozer. We’ll be bringing you the benchmark performance, air cooling OC results, as well as more subzero results soon, but you’ll have to stay tuned until we can bring you all of those tests in the not too distant future. All that said, results of “well beyond 5GHz” on air were claimed on cooling solutions priced below the $100 mark! | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number tw33k OS Windows 7 Ultimate (x64) SP1 CPU Intel 3770k 4.7GHz Motherboard ASRock Fatal1ty z77 Professional Memory 8GB (2x 4GB) G-Skill 16000CL9D (2000MHz) Graphics Card Gigabyte HD 6950 (unlocked 910/1375) Sound Card On Board Realtek HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays 27" Acer B273HU (via HDMI) Screen Resolution 2048 x 1152 Keyboard Microsoft Wireless 5000 Mouse Microsoft Wireless 5000 PSU Corsair AX750 Gold Case Corsair Obsidian 800DW Cooling Phanteks PH-TC14PE 2x PH-F140 & UK 3000, 7x 120mm, 2x 140m Hard Drives Crucial C300 128GB

Why does this chip, an 8150, which is supposed to have 8 cores only have 2?

Maybe the guiness record is poorly worded as "dual core" instead of "full use of multiple cores" or something. Still waiting to see real life results. Bulldozer is all that I have heard about for what seems like forever. The bulldozers were supposed to release on Sept 19th, but I'm reading online this week that the desktop rollout has been pushed back by at least 1 more month.
I'm guessing the Core i7-2700K will arrive around the same time and spoil the AMD party...even with just 4 cores. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD
