Error \Device\Harddisk1\DR1 - DR4 Then It just Directs me to Desktop


Okay, I just recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate. When It done installing, Then I tpye my username and password. Then The error Appears "Error \Device\Harddisk1\DR1 - DR4" Then i click Continue. Redirects me to Desktop. Then I intalled the Wireless Adapter, Its just randomly freezes, When ever i do something (Like 5- 10 Minutes)




I know its XP. It should Say Windows7 7 Because I don't feel like restarting it again.

First thing I would do is read this.
How to Distinguish a Physical Disk Device from an Event Message
to get a better idea of the exact nature of your problem.
If you have a usb device like a printer connected. I would remove it for the time being.

So I follow that directions?

Well the first thing I notice is your disk is reporting as hdd1 instead of hdd0 which is the typical boot location.
Anything is guess work since I don't know what your harddrive profile looks like.
Does the machine boot properly if you choose Safe Mode

C:/ is Windows XP
D:/ is Windows 7

ah okay I was thinking you were in 7 this whole time. Okay you're booting the xp side.
I think you need to have a go at startup repair.

Yeah I was using XP, Because Windows 7 Just freezes.

Okay, I went on Safe Mode:

Everything Looks Fine. Then I reboot again to Normal Windows 7, It just freezes after 5 minutes.


So I do the Startup Repiar?

actually in the windows 7 partition is there anything in c:\windows\minidump?
I could really use that right now.
