    im going crazy!!

My computer is driving ne crazy! I have been trying to figure out what to do for the oast 12 hours.. I have been reading other forums for help and came across here and decided to ask for myself.. ok so I have a Acer aspire 5253-BZ481 and might I add I know nothing about computers. I tried repairing or rebooting it to factory Settings idk what happened but I'm coming up to this screen that reads
    Windows boot manager
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software chang might be the cause. Ti fix the problem:
1 insert windows installation disc and restart computer
    2language setting, click next
    3 repair your computer
if u don't have disc contact system admin or computer manufacturer for assistance
    status: 0xc000000f
Info: windows failed to load because the NLS data missing, or corrupt.
The only disc I have is the recovery one the computer told me to burn. I've tried putting this disc and going from there but I'm back at that same thing again.. can someone please help me?

Hello ashleynt. Welcome to the forum.

It would help greatly if we knew what the issue was that caused you to decide to try and reset the factory settings.

But it sounds like what happened was that the factory restore failed (the CD restore method is notoriously problematic) and Windows is corrupted. So we need to work on repairing that now.

First, (assuming you did not create a Windows 7 Repair Disk) do you know anyone who has Windows 7 installation disks? We may need either a repair disk or the installation disks to fix this.

You could also find someone running W7 and create a Repair Disk on their computer. I'm guessing that laptop had the 32 bit version of W7 on it, if so then you need to create the Repair Disk from another computer running the 32 bit version of W7.

Also, do you know if there was a Acer Recovery Partition on the laptop?

Post back and let us know what you have.

    OK. Good.

    What you should try first:

    • Turn on (Start or restart) the computer.
    • Before Windows starts to load, repeatedly press the F8 key
    • This should bring up the Windows "Advanced Boot Options" menu
    • Use the arrow keys on the keyboard to go down to "Last Known Good Configuration" - so that it is highlighted.
    • Then press ENTER.

Let us know if that restores the system.

    OK. Then lets try this:

    • Put your Windows 7 System Repair Disk in the CD/DVD drive and start/restart the computer.
    • If prompted, PRESS ANY KEY to boot from the CD
    • Select your language > then choose "Repair your Computer" on the next screen
    • Select your operating system > Next
    • Select "Use Recovery Tools..." > Next
    • On the "System Recovery Tools" menu > choose: Startup Repair, And run it

You may need to run the Startup Repair 3 or 4 times.

    Let's hope that fixes it.
