    using jmicron port for sata

    I have a asus P6t mobo on which i am using all 6 sata ports i would like to use at least 1 of the jmicron ports on the board as a further sata port(not in raid just in normal mode) i have set the bios to normal followed the instructions in the manual but i cannot get it to see the HDD(2tb samsung spinpoint).
    Any one with any ideas?

    Cheers

    Just checking:

    You went to the ADVANCED Tab in BIOS > Onboard Devices Configuration >
    and Enabled the JMicron eSATA/PATA Controller

    And changed Controller Mode to AHCI (Not necessary, but best)

    And you have installed the JMicron drivers?

    @TVeblen, Cheers for the reply, no i have not installed (as far as i am aware) any jmicron drivers. I don't think i need them as i am only using it for storage.
    I have however got it to work. When i was installing the cables i loosened one of the power supply leads which is why it failed to be seen in windows

    thanks again for the reply.
