Mobile Mouse 3500 left click seems to malfunction

So I have a Mcrosoft Mobile Mouse 3500 and I have noticed that sometimes it malfunctions. Basically, sometimes it's almost as if the left click is sticking and I wonder if it's the software of a faulty mouse. For example, sometimes I can hold the mose pointer over a window without clicking any buttons but it repeatedly opens and closes the windows very quickly almost as if i were rapidly hitting the left click. Has anyone else had this issue.?

Bad microswitch in the mouse. Had this problem recently with my G500, had to RMA it. Try it on another PC just to rule out software issues. If it is out of warranty you can try to open the mouse and clean the area surrounding the switch.

picked up a new mouse today, the Logitech track ball one. I noticed that the same issue is happening where the left click seems to stick. Now since this mouse is new I can only assume this is some type of software issue. Can anyone troubleshoot with me to figure this out?

further update:

it seems to happen sometimes when I switch windows, like some type of glitch happens but just cant get more specific just yet. I have uninstalled all other mouse software that I know of and I am using the latest software from logitech.

also if your mice are USB, try moving the tower or adapter closer to the mouse. also keep it away from other electronics if possible some can cause interference.

Confirmed:

the issue is with the newest Synaptics driver/software version Windows XP/Vista and Windows 7 64-bit Edition v15.2.20

I did a clean OS install and the issue began immediately after installing the Synaptic's software.

Now here is the problem, I can't scroll pages with my track-pad unless I have the Synaptic's software, but having the software causes lots of trouble with my mouse.

Can I download an older version of the Synaptic's driver and where can I get it?

Synaptics alternatives, do they exist?

Thanks for taking a look at my thread. I had started a thread discussing my mouse let click appearing to stick for no good reason. I have finally narrowed the problem down the the newest Synaptics driver which has been the culprit.

Now, it seems I am unable to fully use my touch-pads features, such as scrolling with my finger, without the Synaptics software. However, using the software causes more problems than it solves.

What do you think I should do about this? Should I install an older version of Synaptics drivers? Thanks for any advice
