    Quick ram question


    I already have a set of khx1600c9d3k3/12gx kit,but I don't won't to buy another of that kit.my question is can I buy the khx1600c9d3k2/8gx and put them in the crosshair v with the khx1600c9d3k3/12gx.does that make sense,I hope it does!

    I'm not sure what you mean by crosshair. Are you asking if your current set of memory would work with the same type, only a smaller capacity? If so, then yes, the memory will work fine together, all assuming your motherboard is capable of using that much memory.

    On another note, are you really sure you are doing something with the computer that will utilize 20 GB of memory?

    I'm building a new pc with the Asus crosshair v and the bulldozer CPU.I wanted to save at least $30 on amazon so I wanted to buy the khx1600c9d3k2 instead of another khx1600c9d3k3 kit.

    There's no difference between triple and dual channel RAM.
    It's the same......just sold in kits of two or three.

    If you take two sticks of the triple channel ram and add two of the dual channel ram (with the same timing and voltage), you should be fine.
