CD-ROM Drive Not Reading CD with Nero Burning ROM

I have used Nero burning ROM to rip my audio CDs onto my hard drive for many years and have never had a problem. But a few weeks ago, out of the blue, Nero has not been able to read the CD in the CD/DVD/Blu-Ray drive. I open the 'Save Audio Tracks to Hard Drive' section of Nero and it just stalls there. I have never had this problem before. I know that the drive works because it will play CDs, DVDs and Blu-Ray discs without a problem, but Nero cannot recognize the disc. It must be a problem with Nero itself. I have the latest version and I have been in contact with Nero support personnel for several weeks, but nothing has helped. All of my drivers are up to date as well. I know this is a Nero issue, but I wanted to check here because I received no help from Nero. I was hoping that someone else had a similar problem and possibly a solution. Thank you.
