Ok, so I have an external HDD that had some issues and Windows was telling me I had to format it. Before doing such a thing(had some really important videos and pics of my family) I did a data recovery. I used GetData(GD) Recover My Data v4. Everything went well and according to plan until AFTER the saving process. The options in GD allow for a choice of save location and whether or not I want to keep the folder structure in tact. I chose C:\ as my location thinking it would add a folder for it by default. I also chose not to keep the folder structure as I had tried this same recovery on a different computer and had issues with the folder structure. Anyhow, I saved everything to the C:\ drive on this computer. At the end of a 3 hr save process(120gb of data) my local hdd had roughly 1gb available. I expected that because I had made just enough room to move all the info from the external drive. However, none of the files that were saved can be seen. Ive tried searching for them, I have all the options checked and unchecked to be able to see hidden file/folders and system files and such. Still no luck. How can i get to these files. If I have to delete them(minus a format which i really dont want to do) thats fine. I have the seach of the external hdd saved and all i would have to do is re save them. Also is should be noted that I had gone back to the GD software and saved some files again, this time I added a folder(c:\recovery). After saving the files they were there and I could see them. Any and all help is welcomed and appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob
