    Help with esata


    Hi hope someone can help with a problem im having. I am trying to use a hdd caddy which i have had for a while and I just found a old hdd i want to get some photos and stuff from so i have connected it to my pc. Here is some details of my pc CPU-Z Validator 3.1
    now the usb works ok it has reconised the caddy in my devices but my esata port is not working as i can not see a drive does anyone know if i need to change any settings or maybe something in my bios. Thanx in advarnce for any advice.

    Open up the PC and ensure that your external eSATA port is actually connected (for example, your eSATA header is plugged in, or your I/O plate on the back is actually wired into the motherboard.

    Second, go to disk management and check to see if it's just a matter of your computer not assigning a drive letter to your drive when it's connected. < I'd almost bet this will be the issue.
