Printer not connecting to computer

Hi Guys

Basically, I can't get a Samsung ML 3560 Laser printer to operate with my desktop computer which is running Windows 7 Home Premium.
There is nothing wrong with the printer or USB cable - they work fine with my laptop running XP.
I have downloaded and installed the latest drivers for Windows 7 (and have checked this with Samsung), but for some reason the printer isn't showing up in device manager.
I have tried connecting to various USB ports.

Any ideas please?

It's a stretch, I know, but did you connect the printer first and THEN install the drivers?

Usually, you have to install the drivers (and any other software) and THEN, sometime during that process, you get a popup on the screen that tells you to connect the printer.

What you could try is disconnecting the printer, removing the drivers, reinstalling the drivers (and any other printer software) -- and seeing if you get that popup.

Thanks Mark - It appears that it was a port problem, and I sorted it in printer properties
