Hard drive partion now I want it back ?

I hope someone could help me please and thank you if you can

I need some advice I have a 600mb hard drive and stupidly I partioned this drive left 300 mbs on my c drive the opereating system, and then i alocatted 300mb for back up of files.

Now I have ran out of room on my C drive and havent used the partion of 300mb so its just been wasted as nothing is in that partion.

So my question is can I take back the 300mb partion and give it back to my c drive ?
I have no idea how to do this any help thanks

    Russell

I have windows 7 64 bit if that helps

    Thanks

It would be best if you could post a screenshot of disk management using the snipping tool. How to upload screenshots. But generally, if the unwanted partition is adjacent to and to the right of the "C" drive, you should be able to delete the unwanted partition and expand the "C" partition into the unallocared space. If that is not the case, we can probably help after we see the screenshot of the whole disk management page showing the upper and lower portions.

Yes that's correct. You do have 100GB free on the C drive though. But if you still want to reclaim that 340 GB for the C drive, just right click on the D drive,"delete volume", and right click on the C drive, "Extend volume".

(assuming you have no files on the D drive, because when you delete the volume it's gone...)

Your C drive will then have a total capacity of roughly 576GB and about 445GB free.
