SSD drive?

I totally agree on all the above comments. I have 4 SSDs, an Intel X25, a Vertex2 and 2 Crucial M4's. The Vertex2 is the largest at 90GB. All of my user files are on a spinner. I have never come close to filling them up. This computer is using a Crucial M4 64GB drive and I have 30GB free. The reason I have 4? As was said above, I will never have an OS on a spinner again. I only recommend you to go to a site like Newegg and read the user reviews on the models you are interested in. The best recommendations come from those who use them.

The Revos have their own problems. I would stay with a Sata - that is more straight forward. Besides, the performance advantage of a Revo over a Sata III SSD is minimal.

But always keep in mind that the "most noticeable" improvement from an SSD is that ultra low access times. These don't improve with these revo drives setup. So, while your read and write speeds indeed to increase, unless you are using your SSD's for storage I don't feel the benefit is really there to justify the cost.

WHS and pparks are right. The biggest advantage for an OS is the response time. Any of the top tier drives will have a response time of 0.1ms (ms = 1/1,000 of a second). So, if you found one twice that fast, you wouldn't be able to notice it.

That is the problem I have with the Revo drive. It also has an access time of 0.1ms. So why would I be paying so much more money. Granted, it has a really fast data transfer rate. But the Sata3 SSDs are nearly as fast and for the OS that operates mainly with 4K blocks it is neither here nor there anyhow.
