Problems that may stem from use of a Logitech G110 Keyboard

Hi, new to the forums and first of all i will say that i am not a complete computer whiz so try not to get too technical if possible

Recently i bought a new computer from centrecom, if it helps, Centre Com - Cheap Notebooks & Computers this one here. Soon after i purchased a Microsoft Sidewinder X8 mouse and a Logitech G110 keyboard. Before that point i was using a logitech wireless mouse and keyboard that worked completely fine. The main problems seemed to start when using the G110 keyboard, i have looked for solutions but i seem to have been lucky enough to get a large set of problems that come from using this keyboard.

- When i first got this keyboard i could not even boot my computer with it plugged in, i had to enable a setting on boot that disabled usb devices until windows had booted (this has since been disabled)

- If i try using the keyboard it will work for a while it will sometimes cut out and then stop working all together (lights may still be on but no keys work)

- If i try to reboot windows hangs at the "shutting down" screen and won't turn off

- For some reason when it stops working i cannot plug in another keyboard such as the previous wireless logitech one i am using now

- When it stops working even uninstalling unrelated programs is impossible as it just hangs at the preparing to remove dialogue

There may be more problems stemming from this but it all started once using the g110 which seems to cause some similar problems with other people and computer seems to work fine when booted and used without it, thanks if anyone can help

From what i can tell everything is up to date, re-installed again, and is it of any significance that it is not showing up in devices or device manager as a g110 keyboard and just has HID keyboard device?

It might. Open your keyboard properties window and see what drivers it's using. Microsoft's standard HID keyboard drivers are pretty old and won't support many of the features on newer keyboards. Also, you may have to Enable Legacy USB Devices in your BIOS to have the keyboard active during boot. You'll need this if you want the ability to use the F-keys.

Okay, i uninstalled all keyboard drivers and the latest version of the software and installed an earlier version which installed the drivers, it now shows up as a G110 keyboard in devices, but not in device manager, and in devices it shows up twice... so going to have to give this a go for a bit, see if the problems persist, and i'll make sure about that legacy usb option
