Windows 7 - Windows Read\Write-Errors when using a Drive with letter H ???

Hi

Idk how this issue start but , I was getting alot of error with my DVD drive , either when reading or writing ( burning ) . Even when it success burning a DVD sometimes it won't be able to read it . So basicly thought drive is bad , today I was going to buy new one , unpluged it then pluged ( hoped it works fine ) and it worked fine , Windows changed it letter to "I" insted of "H" , I tried my 2nd which swapped place with "H" letter , now it won't read or write properly.
I tried assigning anything with "H" letter I get errors, IO error , Cycle ??? error , very slow reading.

I did upgrade / repaired Windows 7 , didn't fix , I removed devices from Devics Manager , and registrey , still the same .

Any idea ?

I might use format as last choice.

name it something other than H? you dont have a removable storage device that youve labelled H do you?

No driver letter H since windows installed. I never changed it before. I have 2 removable storages that lettered L and J .

I don't like to use my pc when there is unfixed issue , I'm obsessed with my system -_- I don't like workaround solutions too .

It isn't an issue.

If "H" was the old one then Windows will add the new one as "I".

"I" was unused so it labeled the new driver and hardware "I".

So if you reletter the DVD/CD player all you do is come up with errors as you found out.
The driver is still "I" looking for unknown hardware that you labeled "H".

If it is working properly use it as "I".

No I have 2 DVD drives , "H" and "I" , When I removed "H" the 2nd Drive which was "I" became "H" , I plugged it again , windows relettered it to ''I'' , now the old ''H'' working fine but the new ''H'' won't read or write properly , same errors .

Ok I figured it doesn't matter what drive letter , the first drive won't work like , from "C" to "G" are HDDs , so DVD drive will be "H" , any drive that come first , won't work , I reletter them "I" , "M" the "I" won't work properly , "M" and "Q" , the "M" won't work , I removed one of each , and still won't work properly .

It's either windows weird issue , or MB , I will install XP on one of the HDD and figure why does this occure.

I installed XP everything worked perfectly ..... So I have to format and install windows 7 .... again... This windows made me hate my life F MS , if only XP will be supported more.

I formatted Windows and still the same issue , could be my MB with windows 7 , installed windows on another system , still the same . I tried with my sister laptop , took whole minute ( geek .. gaak .. geek) lens spins , then couldn't read it and showed blank CD.

The conclusion : Another of Windows 7 epic fails . The question now , Can MS get more stupid ?
