Best place to start is to make sure you have the correct driver for it installed. Each device needs a driver to allow the software to talk to the hardware. Go to MS and find the correct driver (32 bit or 64bit) for your camera and install it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavillion dv-7 1005 Tx OS WCP ONLY CPU 2@2.4 Memory 4 gigs Graphics Card Nvidia 9600M Sound Card HD built-in Monitor(s) Displays 17" Wxga Screen Resolution 1440x900 Cooling none Internet Speed 45Mb down 5Mb up |

Please go to start>search>type device manager. (for Win 7 and Vista)
Are there any "unknown devices" with yellow triangles on them?
Is you driver there , listed, and working?
If your driver is missing, or there is a yellow triangle on it, you will need to update it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavillion dv-7 1005 Tx OS WCP ONLY CPU 2@2.4 Memory 4 gigs Graphics Card Nvidia 9600M Sound Card HD built-in Monitor(s) Displays 17" Wxga Screen Resolution 1440x900 Cooling none Internet Speed 45Mb down 5Mb up |

Zeph, not confused at all. Skype and MSN may use the same driver (or may not) but the features may all not be installed from the mfr, besides it cant hurt to check. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP Pavillion dv-7 1005 Tx OS WCP ONLY CPU 2@2.4 Memory 4 gigs Graphics Card Nvidia 9600M Sound Card HD built-in Monitor(s) Displays 17" Wxga Screen Resolution 1440x900 Cooling none Internet Speed 45Mb down 5Mb up |
