It is write protected, I want to remove write protection. Please tell me how to do it. I have tried to look for it on the internet but nothing seems to be working I tried changing registry but that too didn't work. Can't make any changes to the drive. Can't format it cant copy or paste. Please give me a detailed reply with all the possible solutions for this problem.

Have you looked carefully on the sides of your flash for any small levers or a button maybe that can be switched to remove your protection. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Asus OS Seven ultimate 32bit CPU Core2Duo E5700 Motherboard Asus p5qlem Memory 3GB DDR2 Graphics Card HD5670 Sound Card Onboard Monitor(s) Displays Philips 18.5 widescreen Screen Resolution Depends Keyboard Multimedia Mouse Genius PSU 500w Sparta Case Aerocool Cooling Standard + 2x 40's inserted Hard Drives 500GB Samsung 7200RPM Internet Speed 10meg. |

This seems to be a common problem when the USB pen drive goes bad. One of my friend has to throw away a pen drive (16 GB) which had the same problem. He can not format it nor write new files nor delete any files on it.
If you have warranty for this pen drive, I suggest you to return for warranty replacement. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Toshiba Satellite P775-S7232 OS MS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1 CPU i5-2410M 2.3GHz (2.9GHz Turbo-Boost) Sandy Bridge 32nm Motherboard Toshiba PHRAA ver. There is no switch to turn of the protection. This is an old usb drive which I wasn't using for a while because of the same reason. I was thinking of using it as a ready boost so wanted to format it. I don't actually know how and when this started. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Intel DG31GL OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E7300 @ 2.66GHz (2 CPUs), ~2 Memory 2048MB RAM Graphics Card Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family Screen Resolution 1280 x 1024(p) (60.020Hz) Hard Drives Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250 Gbytes |

This seems pretty much a hardware problem, which can't be repaired. Can you try out the drive on any other systems? The best would be to try it with windows xp or something old. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom Built PC OS Windows 7 Enterprise x64 no SP CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2500K CPU @ 3.30GHz 36°C Motherboard Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
